An attempt to create a quick fusion recipe was underway. Created and the attempt turned out to be successful!
On that day it was cloudy outside & showing signs of rain showers. So any plans of going out is temporarily suspended. And the hunger pangs made us crave for something new & interesting. I was a bit lazy to go for too complicated dishes & that was when I remembered this recipe I had sometime back filed away in my memory as a must-try one! With no second thoughts, this dish was created within minutes & finished off even sooner! Try it out & you will know why!
Bread toast lathered with creamy cheese spread and topped with the spicy fusion corn salsa!
Corn Salsa
A fusion salsa!
- Boiled corn (i used frozen – 1 cup)
- Chopped jalapenos – 2 tbsp
- Chopped red onion – 1
- Salt to taste
- Chaat masala – 1/2 tsp or to taste (an indian spice mix used in popular indian street food & other indian dishes)
- Cumin (jeera powder – 1/2 tsp or to taste)
- Some chopped cilantro (coriander leaves or parsley)
To Serve
- Buttered & crisp toasts or baked tortilla chips
- Toss all the ingredients from corn to parsley & serve with toasts or tortilla chips.
- {We had them with buttered toasts lathered generously with cheese spread and having this made us forget all the gloominess that had dawned on us seeing the cloudy sky!}
May replace jalapenos with chopped green chillies.
May drizzle 1/4 tsp lime juice for some tangy flavor.
