Banana Choco Chip Loaf

It is an EGGLESS bake & a hidden gem for sure!

A long-awaited entry from my dessert journal –  This cake is proof that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. It’s incredibly easy to whip up and even easier to finish! A must-try for anyone who loves a fuss-free bake.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup ghee (melted)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 large bananas
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup maida
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
 

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180º.
  • Grease a loaf tin with butter.
  • In a mixing bowl mash bananas well. 
  • Add ghee, both sugars, vanilla. Combine well. 
  • Then sift in the flours, baking powder, baking soda and salt. 
  • Add chocolate chips.
  • Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf tin.
  • Top chocolate chips.
  • Bake at 180Cº for approximately 30-35 minutes, or until done (toothpick inserted should come out clean).
  • Let cool a bit & then transfer onto a wire rack.
  • Slice & serve.
 

Notes:

  1. Can also add chopped walnuts into the batter or as topping.
  2. Can make from only wheat flour as well.
